Independant Study by Joelle Charbonneau

Cia's adventure of the Testing may be over but other challenges and adventures have just began. After finishing the Testing Cia starts at Tosu University, studying in government. She gets assigned as the President's intern for her required internship and that makes everything even more hectic and crazy for her life. After Cia starts to regain her memories from the Testing she remembers what she needs to do. This book is slower paced then The Testing but it is a total must read if you loved The Testing and want to know what happens next. I recommend this to anyone who loved the first book!

Looking For Alaska by John Green

This story starts with a boy named Miles who wants to go to the same boarding school his dad went to. His parents are letting him but are going to miss him. At his new school Miles makes new friends, starting with his roommate the Colonel. 'The Colonel' introduces Miles(aka Pudge) to a girl named Alaska. Alaska captivates Miles and he falls in love with her. Between pranks, drinking, kisses, and still making it to class this book is filled with laughs and even cries. It was a great read and totally worth it. I would recommend this to anyone high school aged or older, its mature with content(not great for younger kids).

After Everything Broke by Me!

As I stepped outside I urged myself to run. I would have left to see the world, every last inch of it. I would have gone, if I could but instead I just stood there willing my feet to move. The cold, frosty grass glued my feet in place, as the crisp morning breeze called to me to go further. I thought about how everyone at one point in their life must want to run away, maybe not as much as I did, maybe just far enough to know they’re safely away from anything burdening them.
I dreamt of running as far as my feet could take me. I planned to go far enough that no one here in my small town would ever be able to find me. I wanted to run and only stop when there was absolutely no hope of ever returning. I wanted to go, I wished with everything I had that I could go, and part of me needed to go, but I couldn’t bring myself to leave.
I was going to run far far away, to get away from the stuff I constantly had to deal with, and away from all my pain and troubles. I would have ran to a place where I could have been me and no one would want to change who I was. I would go far enough away thatĪ€ eventually they'd all forget who I was, and no longer care about the things I did. I couldn’t help but think that everything would be better if I ran. No longer would I hurt the people I loved, and it would make it easier for all of them to move on. Eventually, I hoped, they would only remember the bad things I did and they would learn to hate me. No one would miss me, I was almost sure of that. Running away sounded so good.
I was going to run away as far as I could… until I
realized that if I did, then I'd lose you, and that is something that I never could do. So please forgive me for the events I have caused, and help me fix everything broken. I can’t do it on my own.

Alice falls down a magical rabbit hole into a whole different world filled with mad people, crazy cats, and a tyrant queen. When Reason Breaks by Cindy L. Rodriguez

Emily and Elizabeth are two different people but are feeling the same things. When in their shared english class starts learning about Emily Dickinson and reading her poems. One of them writes letters to their teacher and includes poems. She's struggling with depression and ends up trying to take her own life. This book is very mysterious and throughout the book you don't know who's writing the letters and who commits suicide until the end. It;s a classic teen tragedy suicide story. I recommend this to anyone who likes those kinds of books, books like Speak and Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson and Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. It is a really good read :)

Stars Above by Marissa Meyer

Have you ever wondered what happened before Cinder? Well this book is all about everyone before. You learn about Scarlet growing up, Princess Selene's adoption, Winter not using her powers anymore and so many more! I loved this book so much! It brings you back into Cinder's world and answers some unanswered questions. I recommend this to anyone who loved the Lunar Chronicles! It's a short read spit into little stories. BUT do not read if you haven't read the others!!! It will give everything away and take away all of the fun!

Number the Stars by Lois Lowry

Annemarie Johansen, a ten year old girl, lives in the middle of the Holocaust. Although Annemarie and her family aren't Jewish they are still affected by the Holocaust. Annemarie's closest friend, and her family are Jewish, and when the Nazis come to get them Annemarie's family helps them out. This book is all about Annemarie's journey of hiding her friends and encountering Nazis first hand. This book is short but definitely worth the read, especially if you are interested in the Holocaust. It is a simple book, the first time I read it was for school in fifth grade, but still is interesting and cute.  I recommend this book to people who like Holocaust stories that aren't necessarily factual.

Allegiant by Veronica Roth

The end of factions is coming closer and closer, and seems to be finally here. With Evelyn taking charge everything continues to fall apart in Chicago. Tris, Tobias and some others want to go outside beyond the fence and see what's out there. Evelyn doesn't think that's the way to go and has guards all around the fence so no one can leave. They end up breaking out past the fence, with some casualties along the way, and discover something they could have never expected. I recommend this book to anyone who loved the first two and wants to continue the story. I will warn you the resent movies that have come out for these books are very different from the books. If you watch Allegiant it won't give anything away, the differences will shock you. I enjoyed both the movies and the books but I also don't get annoyed when they don't match as much as some people do. This is truly a great series and is very enjoyable.

Continue the thrilling series!

Extras by Scott Westerfeld

As anyone who's read the Uglies series you know it's a trilogy. Extras is the fourth book in this 'trilogy' it was written after the fact. A few years after everything Tally Youngblood did to the Ugly, Pretty, Special system Aya is introduced. This story is about Aya Fuse and her life, you learn all about what happened after Tally left. This book is an interesting look at what happened in the previous books and it is worth the read. Although it is a little odd for it to be told by someone else once you give it a chance you will fall in love with it just as much as the other ones. It is a great way to continue on the story and really wrap it all up.

Winter by Marissa Meyer

I was so excited about this book that I couldn't even wait for it to come to the library, I rushed to the book store and bought it even though it was 30$ and hard cover. Let me tell you, it was worth every last penny. In this story you learn more about Levana's step-daughter Winter(which if you've read Fairest you know a little about her already) she resembles Snow White in many ways. She is kind and in need of a little help ever since she decided to stop using her lunar power. Cinder and her friends travel to Luna and meet Winter, starting a revolution. It is majorly action packed and Princess Selene finally returns to her rightful place in Luna. This is a thrilling and wonderful ending to the Lunar Chronicles and I strongly suggest it.

The final story of Katniss, forever known as the Mockingjay. After the thrilling and surprising ending of Catching Fire. In Mockingjay you learn about District 13 and how they are planning the revolution against the capitol, using Katniss as their face of the revolution. Between filming motivating videos to broadcast across all the districts and war starting to kick up, Katniss doesn't have a lot of time to think about everything that's going on. If you loved the first two books you'll love this book just as much.
