Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carol

Everyone must have heard of the girl named Alice who was just a curious little girl who fell down a rabbit hole, but if you haven't then this is a must read classic! Alice falls down a magical rabbit hole into a whole different world filled with mad people, crazy cats, and a tyrant queen. This book is great for all ages, young and old; read it to your kids, or siblings, read it to yourself! It's completely worth the adventure.

Number the Stars by Lois Lowry

Annemarie Johansen, a ten year old girl, lives in the middle of the Holocaust. Although Annemarie and her family aren't Jewish they are still affected by the Holocaust. Annemarie's closest friend, and her family are Jewish, and when the Nazis come to get them Annemarie's family helps them out. This book is all about Annemarie's journey of hiding her friends and encountering Nazis first hand. This book is short but definitely worth the read, especially if you are interested in the Holocaust. It is a simple book, the first time I read it was for school in fifth grade, but still is interesting and cute.  I recommend this book to people who like Holocaust stories that aren't necessarily factual.

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

The Great Gatsby is about a man name Jay Gatsby. It is told by Nick Caraway who recently moved to West Egg right next store to Gatsby. Gatsby is a mysterious man that few know anything about. He has this one dream and that is to once again be with the beautiful Daisy Buchanan. After a long string of events everything and everyone scatters. There is drama, excitement, big parties, love, heartbreak, and has a tragic ending. It is a classic and if you haven't read it yet you totally should! It's short but dense and filled with symbols.
